Do not reply with personal information to unknown emails informing you that you won big prize.
It’s either they want to trick you to send money to them or they will use your personal information to get access to your account. I saw a news in TV last few months about a man who replied with his personal information to an email message without knowing that It was a scam, unfortunately after few hours of their conversation, his paypal money was gone.
Never share your password
Password is your confidential information, it is recommended not to share your password to anyone. Some hackers will pretend that they are part of the company. In my case, my account in a game was once hacked because I thought that was one of the game master who sent me a private message , he managed to change his name into GM, he said he would put rare game items to my account directly so he asked my username and password. That was the craziest thing I ever did because I gave my password and user name to the hacker. Anyway I learned a lot from that instance. We should always put in our mind that there is no company’s employee will ever ask your password thru email, unsolicited phone calls, or thru chat.
Beware of phishing sites, emails, and phone calls
This is very dangerous when you are not aware with these types of hacking techniques. A lot of cyber criminals are making money through phishing. Be careful of the links on email messages sent to you because it might lead you to phishing sites or automatically install malicious software and steal personal information upon clicking that link. Websites ending with .tk is not safe at all, most hackers are using such free domain names to trick their victims. Hackers are people who are good in social engineering, a technique they use to convince the victim to enter their username and password for a particular website account like facebook to the phishing site they have created. Beware of keylogging softwares
In order your account to be safe from keylogger, do not use untrusted PC to login any websites containing sensitive information like your banking accounts. Some hackers use keylogger which log every keystrokes you made and probably logged your password. It is hard to detect a keylogging software specially when it is properly setup that is why you must be extra careful using PC.
Never save passwords on browser
For security reason, it is not advisable to save your password on browser specially on internet cafe shop. Once you save passwords on browser, it will be stored and probably someone will easily find your password by just going to browser settings.
Change your password regularly
Changing password even once a month or once every 3 months could help secure your account from getting hacked. Also do not use same password to all of your accounts. Every time you change your password, be sure that it is always in strong combination but easy to remember.
